I'd like to emulate this website with Wordpress

I’d like to emulate the site, www.aslnetwork.com, with Wordpress and want to know if it’s possible to do with the Fresh News Woo Theme. Is it possible to have it so that the sidebars/widgets only appear on certain pages like the site above when using the Fresh News theme? If so, is there a lot of coding involved?

And is there a good plugin for rotating featured images on the homepage that are hyperlinked to a page or a blog post? It would be like the site above, except the images would be hyperlinked.

I purchased Thesis, but returned it because it just seemed like there was too much coding involved. I could probably figure it out, but I don’t have the time. I need to get this project up asap.

If using the Fresh News theme is too involved, is there another theme that you would suggest, possibly free?

I looked into getting PagesLines’s Platform Pro, but I submitted some questions via email and Twitter and have not heard back from them.

I need to make sure that if I purchase a theme for this project, that there is great support that comes with it. I know Thesis had great support, but when I started asking how to do things with my project, it really entailed some coding.

Please advise.

You could reproduce that fairly closely using the free Atahualpa theme. The theme allows for up to 4 sidebars and you can specify which pages the sidebar(s) appear on.

Atahualpa has an excellent support forum http://forum.bytesforall.com/

The Featured Content plugin http://www.featuredcontentgallery.com/ should create the rotating gallery for you.

Hope that helps.

Great. Thanks, poppy. That definitely helps.
