Any metrics or word on how the new twitter bootstrap been received?
the names for the classes alone make me not want to try it.

You can often get a sense of the collective mood by doing a Twitter search, say for “bootstrap3”.
I think it has been received quite well because of its responsive mobile first approach by default. The problem is that it is not easy to upgrade from bootstrap2 and is therefore better suited to new builds.
Foundation seems to be gaining momentum because of its smaller footprint.
