I want to register a .er domain, and I’m not sure how to go about it.

Quick research tells me to contact someone at EriTel (communications company) - and i’m skeptical about the advice at eHow.

Anyone have luck / experience with this?

THanks!

Go to http://www.GoDaddy.com and create a free account.
(This is free and doesn’t cost anything cause they don’t charge fer free stuff.)

Then call them at 1-480-505-8877, and they will stay on the phone with you and walk you step by step thru the domain name registration processees

How did you manage to register CoachingSitesThatWork.com ?

As GoDaddy don’t offer .er domains that isn’t going to help.

According to http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/er.html the administrative contact for domains in Eritrea is Eritrea Telecommunication Services Corporation (EriTel).

http://www.rerundomains.com/domain/eritrea/er.php offers domains from many African countries including Eritrea. There are several others such as www.101domain.com and www.rwgusa.net that look like they intend to offer domains from Eritrea but their pages still say that IANA has yet to delegate an adminiistrator even though IANA itself says it has done so.

er, sorry about that there…

So what does a .er domain represent? Ergonomics, or something?

um… see post #3

Then, what is “Eritrea”?

or try www.google.com

Can help you with all sorts of questions.

I was hoping so, but I can’t find their tech support number anywhere on their website…

It is a country in Africa.

.er is the top level domain for that country.

All two letter top level domains are allocated to a specific country.

I too wanted to register a .ER domain. I have just sent an e-mail to Eritrea Telecommunication Services Corporation asking them if I can register the domain and how much would it cost.

I’ll post here their answer.

Well, I did receive a REPLY only not the kind I was looking for. It was a FAILURE DELIVERY SYSTEM, automatically generated by Gmail. It seems that the e-mail doesn’t exist anymore, the one provided on IANA.
