I want to collect video birthday greetings from others

My wife is hitting a milestone birthday this year and we just moved to a new town and have left behind our friends of many years. I’m trying to come up with an easy way for her friends to record a short video message to her. Ideally I’d like to download them and edit them together in to a single video (with Final Cut Pro), but if downloading them isn’t possible, that’s fine too.

The only possibility I can think of so far is to create a Facebook Page and have people post a video on that page. It should be easy enough to do on a phone or computer, right?

Are there any other online apps or services that could achieve something similar. It would have to be an EASY process for the person making the video. I don’t mind making the effort to edit them together.

This Sunday, visit each one and record them on your video recorder. That is the easiest. You also get to make sure they say the kinds of things that your wife will cherish. You will need to put their eyes 1/3 from the top of the frame and make sure there are no shadows on their faces when recording.

The problem is that they are 2000 miles away! That’s why I need to online tool/platform.

What you are trying to do it too hard, esp. if the friends don’t want to do the recording and uploading.

I would just ask for old photos them put them into your video that you edit.
