will i banned or penalty by google if i make like this??
thanks ^^

I doubt you’d be banned. Rather, I just think it’s not a good idea. The meta description is a key way to explain clearly what your page is about, so to have the same thing on every page is missing out on a big opportunity and wasting the potential for Google to serve up your page when someone is looking for the specific content it holds.

so it’s better empty than like that right ralph?

I’d say never leave it empty, personally. Use it to describe accurately and concisely what’s on the page, to help people find what you are offering. I expect it doesn’t impress search engines much if the meta description bears little or no relationship to what’s on the page. Don’t put misleading content in the meta description just to lure people to your page when it’s not what they are looking for.

The examples you posted above suggest that you are putting a name (business or personal) in each page description. that’s probably not much use unless people already know the name and are Googling it specifically.

Well, i think it is not good idea to put meta description same for all pages, keyword stuffing is against to latest penguin update. i advise you put meta description to put in home page and leave blank in sub pages or use different description if you feel they are important. keyword density will become high if you same on all which not good idea and it’s basic rule.

I’ll say the same as I’ve said before…

As a general rule, you should not be using the same <title> or <meta description> for multiple pages. What you’re saying, when you do that, is that those two pages have the same content. But if they have the same content, why have you got two separate pages? The description needs to tell people (and search engines) clearly what the page has to offer them. If you use the same text on each and every page then not only will it be harder for Google to figure out the purpose and point of each page and to rank it accordingly, but it will be hard for potential visitors to figure out which page (if any) they want to look at.

Is this what you want your site to look like in Google?

Its always better to use different meta tags for different pages but then the content should be different for those pages. I guess its a bad idea to use different anchor text for same content used on other pages.

Stev.
i make it different but only some word.
please look carefully.
@i will guide
if i put <meta tag description> at head section that will generate duplicate to all pages…i can say it’s impossible only make meta tag description appear only at home page.

Yes sure it will be considered as a duplicate meta tag and there could be a possibility to penalize website from Google (Search engines). I would like to give you a advise not to use same meta tag for all pages.

You are missing the point. Make it specific to each page, to describe what’s on the actual page. You haven’t really taken in what’s been said above. :frowning:

if i put <meta tag description> at head section that will generate duplicate to all pages …

Depends on how you are doing it. But if using a CMS, you should be able to create a different one for each page. (If the CMS doesn’t allow that, get a better one!)

From my experience… I have had the same META DESCRIPTION and META KEYWORDS on all my pages for over 1 year and I have never been banned. However 2 months ago I optimized my meta tags and now they are with the relation to the particular web page, and I have noticed a big improvement of these pages in Google search. I know it takes time to optimize META tags for all pages of your website but the results are worth doing that.

Thanks for describing your experiences, hypernovadesign. I’m sure that’s useful feedback for the OP.

And what difference does that make?

The point I was making was that each page should be about something different (if it isn’t then why have you get several pages covering the same thing? Far better to combine them into one), and the title/description need to be relevant to the particular page, highlighting it’s unique features. If you have title/description that is effectively the same, whether that’s exactly the same or just with one irrelevant word different, you’re not doing anything to distinguish one page from another, so how will people know which one to look at?

You can’t get banned but your page suffers because of same description, they won’t get a proper rank in search engines. Make some change in meta description, this is most important part of on-page SEO.

…and you’ve got to remember that is for the customers enjoyment…not Google’s!

Llwyddiant!

I am agree with this. I don’t think if your meta tags are same for couple of pages then google will penalize your website. But yes this is not a good practice according to SEO. Meta description tags is not just a tag but also the first impression on your customer. It will be better and i strongly recommend to create different meta tags for all pages.
