I have an idea for a company

Do you guys remember how woothemes was created… 3 people met up and chatted about an idea ( they never met before) and launched it. Now woothemes is one of the largest WP markets.

My idea was to replicate this idea in 2016. I’m a pretty good front-end web developer, but not a great designer nor a PHP genius. My idea was to combine our knowledge and make something awesome.

Here is the plan:

The designer will photoshop something.
I will build it through HTML/CSS/JS. Also I am great with SEO and marketing.
The PHP guru will then convert it for WordPress.

I know it sounds crazy and how can you trust someone, but for security reasons I also have an idea.
One person runs the hosting and doesn’t give out the info.
Second person runs PayPal and doesn’t give the other people the info.
The third person runs the market ( uploads the themes to market) and like previously doesn’t tell the info.

I know this is a crazy idea, but this plan once worked with woothemes., Why not replicate it?

Thanks.

What you seem to be suggesting is simply putting together a three-developer WordPress theme building shop, which isn’t a particularly innovative (or crazy) idea. There are tons, and tons, of theme development shops out there.

Not saying it’s a bad idea, but it’s not particularly unique. [quote=“eli.sultanov, post:1, topic:214789”]

This sounds like a recipe for disaster. What you should do, instead, is either form a company with these people, and sign legal agreements, or simply make the project yours, and hire the others - pay them a fee, or a commission % of sales, or royalties on sales… whatever you prefer, but don’t do something like this, where members end up holding parts of the business hostage from each other.

no need to make you “company” so vulnerable…a simple non-disclosure would work and not hamstring you…I’m interested btw.

I agree. Sounds interesting

I don’t think that this is a crazy idea! Many people all around the world cooperate in the same way!
That is true that we cannot trust strangers, but you can always find a way that will be beneficial to all parts! Unfortunately, I am not a great Web designer or a genial PHP developer, but I hope you good luck!
I hope that you would find your partners and you will implement your idea! Good luck!

why not try do it. Hope you’re lucky man
