I’ve had a facebook page for about a month now, but the problem I’m having is that I am unable to “like” anything/anyone, due to the fact I don’t have a profile on facebook.
This may sound odd, but frankly I don’t want a facebook profile…am I alone in this situation? Is the there a way to create a profile that isn’t seen by any old tom, dick or harry?
You can take care of it in your privacy settings. Additionally, you can put as little or as much information in your profile as you want their except maybe for the basic stuff. Access the link to the privacy settings tab by clicking on your name on your facebook page (top right hand side), go to “Edit Profile” and you should see this: “You can also visit your privacy preferences to adjust other settings.”
Thankyou Shyflower. I’ve now created a profile with almost no information and no picture; lo-and-behold it’s possible to have a profile and operate under the company name. Great!
You don’t have to have a profile to create a page, it’s a default link on the index of Facebook. But, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have even a basic, make shift profile account to incorporate with your page. So you can like things etc and have them tracked back to you without having to deal with actual personal information getting in the way and/or dealing with the actual uses of Facebook as normal members would.
