I am doing Social Media Optimization or Social Media Marketing, what are the processes for it to be successful?

For example, I want to optimize a Facebook Page (Selling a Gadget) which is just for LOCAL target market, then what is the first process am I going to do? But, they don’t have any website for now.

or

Would I go (Example) Good for 6 months
First step : 1st week - 2nd week = Make a 1000 LIKE reach for 2 weeks
Second step : 3rd week = local classified listing
Please help me what to do… Thank you

If you already have a Facebook Page then,

Add some unique content, attractive images, product or services details into it.
It will be good if you can offer something as in start.
Then ask your friends to like the page, vice versa, ask your friends to ask their friends to participate in your facebook page like liking updates form you, commenting on page.
Do some forum posting wherein involve people to get into your facebook page.
Meanwhile, be active for every like, comment you receive.
Try to be interactive with all Facebook members so that they can participate well.
And obviously you can go for local ad posting.
