here is my css :

 a:LINK, a:VISITED {
color: black;
padding: 14px 25px;
text-align: center;
text-decoration: none;
display: inline-block;
background: -webkit-linear-gradient(bottom, #f2f2f2, white);
background: -o-linear-gradient(bottom, #f2f2f2, white );
border-radius: 5px;
border: 1px outset;
padding: 7px;
 font-weight: bold;
 }

 a:HOVER, a:ACTIVE {
background-color: #f2f2f2;
 }

to style these links :

  <a data-toggle="tab" href="#location_specification" >LOCATION/SPECIFICATION</a>
     <a data-toggle="tab" href="#vat_fun_control" >VAT/FUND/CONTROL</a>

I’m not clear what exactly isn’t working, but here

href="#vat_fun_control"

is there a typo? Should it be

href="#vat_fund_control"

You should have this css without the browser prefixes.

the problem is in styles, my links remain blue and underlined and not accepting the styles i specified in my stylesheet. :confused:

It works here:-

The changes are, I removed to obsolete prefixes. Added the to keyword to the gradient direction. Changed the active property from background-color: to background: to be consistent with previous styling, allowing it to override that styling.
