HTML complete book!

I have bought ‘Build Your Own Website The Right Way Using HTML & CSS’ to learn how to use HTML professionally. However, this book did not give me what I want, I want to know more about HTML and XHTML and CSS so I can build any website I want without any IDE. May you recommened a good book?

With respect to HTML, these links may help you:

All the best

HTML Utopia: Designing Without Tables Using CSS, 2nd Edition, which is published by SitePoint is probably considered to be the follow up to Build Your Own Website The Right Way Using HTML & CSS. I don’t have a copy of so can’t say how good or bad it is.

It depends on exactly what you want to learn as building a website is such a broad topic and there are many aspects to it (server side, client side, scripting (javascript, php, perl, ajax etc), graphic design, html, css… the list goes on)

Here are a few common titles for html and css.

If you do a quick search of the forums for books you will should find many other recommendations.

I doubt there’s one book that will teach you everything and there’s no substitute for lots of practice.

I found “Build Your Own Website The Right Way Using HTML & CSS” to be a good introductory book. It should have given you enough info to get in there and building web pages.
I’d say it’s more important to get in there practicing rather than reading more, you quickly forget what you’ve read if you don’t practice.

But, if you are just looking for more advanced content - There’s only one book I consistently recommend. Bulletproof web design by Dan Cederholm is excellent.

Hope it helps,

Thank you. Can you suggest one for HTML as well?
