How writers can charge more through guest blogging

We just joined this forum to post a paid listing for our guest blog writer position that pays up to $35.00 a blog post. Which is what good writers should be getting paid. However it seems that there is plenty of global writing willing to charge $2 to $3 an article or blog post, which is under a penny a word.

Our model is a bit different in that we pay for a writers ability to get us a new guest blog post and then create the story.

What do you think of this model? I’ve scene other blog networks that pay based on page views & even links. What else could help writers get paid what they are really worth?

Blog posts with a point. Do those two words even go together?

I have worked with writers who charge $1/100 words to the ones who charge 3 cents for every word. Paying up to your proposed $35.00 a blog post is good. Paying based on page views, how much readers interact on a particular posts & even incoming links is a common thing these days but at the end of the day, writers feel to be paid for their hard work. I personally think that the basic pay should be fixed and some incentives can be brought in for the popularity/incoming links for the post of a writer.

I definitely agree with Doug, that makes a lot of sense mate!

If you’re comparing your standard of work to anyone who’s charging a mere $2-3 a post, then things are grave indeed.

What’s the point of these blog posts you speak of, anyway?
