How to reduce large size PST files

Hi guys, Plz suggest me some tool to compact Outlook database.

You didn’t say what version of Outlook, but take a look here:

Scroll down to the “How to Manually Start PST Compaction” section.

I am using Outlook 2007 on window xp operating system

you should use latest version of outlook in which your file size would be reduce.

The version of Outlook has little impact on the filesize of the mailbox file.

Hi alanjone thanks for your suggestion. I’ ll let you share experience of this software.

Why pay for a third party solution when you can use a same-vendor solution for free?

Hi all.

I am still facing problem to not store more data in Outlook after compacting my PST files.

-Open folder in List view . At the bottom of the navigation panel click on list icon or press ctrl+6.
-Go on file tab .
-click account settings.
-on the data file tab ,select the data file you want compact then click settings .
-click compact now

You can try the auto-archive feature. That will essentially move older email after a specified amount of time into a separate PST file.

There are tools like emailXtender that will remove old e-mails and substitutes them for links (so you can open them when you need them) without having to move them to another PST. This extension for Outlook zips the e-mail and its attachments so they don’t take so much space.

Having said this, with Office 2007 you have more capacity than previous versions and having a second PST to archive those e-mails that you don’t need in a daily basis is a good option.

Same with autoarchive which will move the objects from one PST to the other automatically and periodically, keeping your main PST as clean as you want it

Hii.

As you want to reduce PST file size, I would like to suggest you to use Split PST Software. The software is best utility used by Outlook to reduce Outlook PST file size without any data loss. You can divide large and bulky PT file size by Date, Year, Folder and Size and save save at your end. The software supports all versions of MS Outlook 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002 (32 bit and 64 bit).

I’d say the OP has enough alternatives to choose from, and hasn’t responded for months. I’m closing the thread.
Thank you all for your input.
