I tend to underestimate how long things will take, constantly. Even knowing that fact, I still do it.
So I’m asking all of you: how can I improve my ability to provide accurate estimates?

It’s taken me a while to realize that however long I think something will take, times it by 2 or 3 and thats closer to the reality.
I would say my first guess tells me how long I could do it without interruptions, feedback, problems.
Add on communication and alterations and it almost certainly doubles.
So whilst you may know this ahead of time, its easy to get caught out in a conversation and say the first thing that comes to your head. Always hold off for a few seconds to double or triple your guesstimate before putting out an unrealistic timeline.
