How to get google to notice your site

So, I run a jigsawpuzzle(jigsawpuzzlesnow.com) site now, about 2 years ago. But it seems Google needs sites to be older than that to even consider them. I make a jigsaw puzzle each day and distribute and many sites use my jigsaw puzzles(flash games), I get about 2000 pageviews from pure referral traffic from players. I get some Bing/Yahoo traffic but can’t show up in google. I have webmaster tools running on the site and it reports no issues at all. I have never used any backlink methods so I do not think I am blacklisted. But if I searched “Jigsaw Puzzles Now”, my site does not show up. My facebook page that links to my main site shows up on page 2 or something but my actual site is nowhere to be found. Google has indexed like 2000 pages of my site so I am sure I’m in the index, but yet I can’t even get the site to show up if I search for the title?

As a side note, any sites that I have under 3-4 years old don’t show up when I search for the title but sites I have older than 3-4 years will show up as #1 when I search the title. Anyone else notice this?

My initial impression is there’s almost no text content on the site for Google to find.

Maybe if you gave each a brief description of the image it would help?

*BTW you had an extra z in there, I edited it out.

If you look at the HTML, there is actually text on the page, there is a description for every game. If you hover over the icons of games, you see a description. If you look at the HTML of the page, the descriptions are in there.

The layout is mostly icons because that is what people look for when looking for jigsaws – the pictures.

I also have the same problem with my public domain pictures site at http://www.goodfreephotos.com and that site has text.

Also, this site:

Has pretty much no text on it and rates very well for the term “Jigsaw Puzzles”.

I don’t think that’s the case at all, although sites seem to do better after being online for a while, but two years should be enough. My feeling is that your site is not well optimized. As said, the text isn’t very specific. There are obviously lots of sites online featuring “jigsaw puzzles”, so you have to differentiate yourself somehow. Even a search specific to your site is not very friutful, producing some rather lacklustre pages from result #2 onwards. The second result for your site is /sample-page/, which isn’t very inspiring. That suggests to me that there isn’t enough clear text and a clear enough structure for Google to work out what your site is about.

I’m using wordpress and a arcade plugin for wordpress for my jigsaw puzzles site and zenphoto for my photos site. What can I do?

How do I make the structure better?

Both Bing and Yahoo can pick up my site just fine, but it seems that Google can’t. Pretty much every site that I started or started promoting after September of 2012 seems to have this issue while the sites before that don’t really have this issue.

Getting traffic is not the only reason of getting higher rank in google. Traffic is one of the factors of ranking. You need to do proper optimization of your website to increase ranking. Your website need some changes like missing sitemap, multiple H2 used, text 2 html ratio is low; also your website takes too much time for load.

Google is picking it up alright, just doesn’t see it as very important. Again, it looks like you need to add more content—like a clear description on each page of what you are offering.

If you want then you need to update the content on the weekly bases. If you will do then Google will continuously read your website.

And what if you don’t have new content on a weekly basis? Do you think Google will just ignore the site?

Suppose you have a great, authoritative site on the life of Alfred the Great. You may occasionally have new information to post, but you’re highly unlikely to have worthwhile updates on a weekly basis. But Google (and other search engines) will continue to recognise the worth of your site as a resource and will continue to crawl it and to rank it highly in the SERPs, even if you only update it once a year or less.

Make simple and user friendly website,do proper on page SEO, make a proper site map and robot.txt, because in order to locate your site and index it, google crawler should be given proper direction.

Please note: the question is not about how to get a site indexed; Archbob has already stated that Google has indexed around 2,000 pages. The question is about how to ensure those indexed pages appear high in the SERPs.

Please confine replies to this issue.

you need to frequently change your content little bit. Write meta tag in proper length. Share your site on social media. This kind of activity highlight your site on google.
Thanks…

how can someone change website’s content frequently? It is not easy task to write fresh and relevant content. and what if website has thousands webpages? I am not agree… Here are many poplar websites which have same content from years.

I am say that change little bit content that suit your product or services which you serve. I am not talking about sites entire content.

I am not agree with you… what in case you have copyrighted content? in that case you would like to have same for long time…
Also Google take care about content when the website is published. After that Google more effort on other algorithms and less on content…
still thanks for taking your time to reply.

oh ya.
