How not to be a jerk on Twitter

Part of my job for SitePoint is tweeting on behalf of the company.
I am constantly astounded by the way some idiots use Twitter!
I found this article about exactly that subject so I thought I’d share it.

I’m sorry. I will try to tweet better Sarah. :stuck_out_tongue:

To add to that list.

11. Those that have their Facebook, MySpace and Twitter accounts tied together but still post at (at least) 2 of them every time they post.

12. Sites that auto post the exact same thing that is on their blog to their twitter and nothing else ever. I mean I understand why someone would want to do this, but if I already follow you in my feed reader than there is no reason to follow you on twitter also. You just lost a follower.

13. People that tweet too much…

Disclaimer: I’m not claiming to be an expert twitterer or anything. :stuck_out_tongue:

I must have done something wrong, you stopped following me Ben :frowning: :stuck_out_tongue:

Twitter being a social site, it has all the types of people on it. Be it the wise or the foolish. It depends on the user, and his purpose to be on the sire. The first way to avoid being a jerk is, showing and responding to people or topics you don’t know about.

And I’m sorry that I had to break it to you in this veiled way Ben, but I’m glad you understand. ;):stuck_out_tongue:
