I’d like to know, how much does doing just off-page optimization pay?
off-page seo got significant effect on SERP ranking.
however IMO it should be combined with on-page SEO.
I visited Odesk dot com & elance dot com looks like Onpage optimizer are being paid lot more then Offpage. i think onpage take little bit knowledge on html , css, php coding to deal with . while offpage is only Research of quality links . if you are able to find Quality links then you may rock in offpage Link building techniques . w3schools would be a great Resource for you in learning Onpage.

Off-Page is just 30% of SEO now, You can have an idea from this how off-page optimizer would be paid. So my advise to is carry on in this field, you can make good career in SEO.
In my opinion, if you’re a newbie of SEO, pay is not so important, you can collect more experience first. If not, do some research in your country and make a fair decision. Sure you can get good career in it.
