There are many confusions about PR all over the place. So, I thought Let’s discuss about how frequently pagerank PR is calculated?
I am running a blog about Amazing Pictures and news altough its a newbie but I have created many links to domain name but the There is still PR 0.
Would you share your knoledge or experience regarding this question?
Thanks
The real PR is updated constantly but Google keep that information confidential.
The only info available to the general public about PR has been converted from the very precise and meaningful value into a single digit number using a logarithmic scale that reduces the data almost to the point where it is meaningless. Google then wait a period of time after generating the nearly meaningless version so that it is even less meaningful by the time people see it.
Like felgall said PR is updated constantly, but if you are wondering when the little green bar shows up, it can be anywhere from 3-9 months and only if there is a change, it’s not consistent. Besides, PR is a false indicator of a sites value, you should be judging value by traffic, conversions or whatever else your goal is for your web site.
Yes you are right. PR has nothing to do with site rank. Although it reflects about the authority of the page on a particular subject matter. But you know it feels bad if even your domain have a zero PR. So it means that I have to wait for sometime to have a PR1. and how much backlinks do you need to have at least PR of 1??? Any idea?
Does it say ‘PR 0’ or ’ No PR info Available"? Is it says PR 0 then certainly you have made improvement. This is a waiting game. You have to wait for things to happen. And as others said, PR is nothing. Try to have traffic and improve SERP.
I really don’t think anyone can give you the exact answer. I’ve spoken to google search engineers in person, and then keep everything closely guarded. One observation I can make is they have been updating the visible toolbar pagerank much less frequently in the last year.
You left out the word NOT in that sentence since PR counts all links except those marked nofollow and has nothing whatever to do with the subjest of the pages.
Also there is no set number of links ofr a PR of 1. The site with the highest real PR is assigned a display PR of 10 and all the other sites are then have a logarithmic scale applied to their real PR in determining what single digit display PR gets assigned. So the value depends not just on the real PR of your page but also that of the web page with the highest real PR.
Also PR isn’t just worked on the number of incoming links but also uses the real PR of the pages those links are on and the number of other outgoing links that those pages contain in determining how much real PR that each incoming link gives your page.
