How does a search engine work
Hey Shweta, it’s an interesting topic, but rather than ask such a vague, open-ended question, it would be better to post something like this:
I’ve been reading up on how search engines work, and so far my understanding is […]. But what I don’t understand is […]. So my question is […]
In other words, demonstrate that you have made some effort to do some research, and ask a question about what you don’t understand. Otherwise, threads like this are kind of wishy-washy and go around in circles.
The question is too generic to be answered here. There are quite a few articles that explain how a SE works.
Examples:
How Search Engines Work - Search Engine Watch (#SEW)
HowStuffWorks “How Internet Search Engines Work”
The forum is here to try to help you understand what you don’t understand but it is a waste of time to answer a question like this, so vague and open, when you can google it and find much more information and detail easily.
It would be much better if the question was more specific.
Therefore, I’m closing the thread.
Search Engine has their software call Robot / Spider. They follow / crawl the links on the internet, encounter the data, index it & spew it out when somebody searching for the specific data.
thank you
