How do you upload the flash doc into your HTML doc?

Ive already placed the .swf and .html files into my folder, but what do I need to write in my index html page(this is where the flash is to be viewed) to actually embed the flash animation ?

Ive tried:

<embed src=“testimonial.html” id=“flashVid” width=“288px” height=“288px”></embed>

and it works in IE9, latest safari and latest opera but not in the latest firefox, its just got you need a plugin… So I downloaded the plugin, did a complete restart of my laptop, and its still saying I need a plugin…?

I seem to think the <embed> code Ive used is incorrect, as it also does not validate against my index`s doctype that being: XHTML 1.0 Transitional, were I can see a problem as the actual flash html file is actually XHTML 1.0 Strict.

This is my very first attempt at uploading a flash file into a html file, so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I have tried “googling” to find out how to do it, but I must be typing the wrong keywords in as I came up with nothing related to what Im trying to achieve.

Look forward to hearing from anyone

Forgot to add the swf and published html file for everyone to see - Its only a very simple use of a transition effect.

Think Ive cracked it, all I did was copy the <object> code from the published html file flash produced, and placed this code in my index html where I wanted it viewed. It now also validates against the transitional 1.0 HTML.
