Hi, I’ve recently bought two domains for a new project:
domain-name.com & domain-name.co.uk
I’ve looked around a little but couldn’t find out what is the best way to use these domains to optimize my google search results for my key phrase(s).
I first tried just using the .co.uk domain and having the .com domain to redirect to the .co.uk. That gave me ranking #3 in google.co.uk for my key phrase. But in google.com, the ranking for the .co.uk domain was well down the list on page 10 or something.
I decided to switch round to the .com domain, after a few days, I’m now #3 in google.com, but now well down the list on google.co.uk. (my .co.uk domain isn’t index as I told google my site had moved to the .com domain in webmaster)
I want to get the best ranking possible in google.com & google.co.uk, how should I optimize my domains?
Should I have two sites?
Or should I just use one domain and redirect the other?
Should I use the .com one only and tell google (webmaster) to target the UK? Will that affect my google.com ranking?
Could somebody advise me on how can optimize my site to get the best ranking possible on both google.com & google.co.uk from my new domains.
Cheers
