Hi everybody,
I never thought that I would be asking such a question. I even called Apple for that to no avail.
I save my files in TextEdit, but there is a file that I want to delete. I looked in documents it’s not there! When I open Text Edit it’s there, when I type the name in the search box, I don’t find it!
I hope someone could help me with this.
Thanks in advance.
It might be possible it is a; hidden, temporary, corrupted or read-only file. Have you checked its File Properties and extension? I don’t have a Mac so aren’t that familiar but if something like that happened to me in a text editor; they would be my first suspicions.
Alan Connor: Thank you Alan. That was nice of you
xhtmlcoder: The question I want to ask is : Why do I have to look for it in my documents to be able to delete it? Mac is driving me crazy:D
Thank you to both of you for your help :):
So, am I guessing that there’s a file that’s appearing in the text edit save dialog box, that’s located in your documents folder? And that you want to delete this file, but when looking in the finder, it’s not appearing?
If this is the case, the file is hidden. In the find box you will need to add more search parameters. In the “other” section, you will be able to find a “hidden” option. Choose that, select hidden and hopefully you will find this file.
if that doesn’t work, download the trial of Panic Software’s transmit. It has the option of viewing hidden files and will allow you to see the file and delete it.
Hope this helps.
The Guv: Where do I find “other”?
Thank you for your help.
There you go.
