Are you using Google Webmaster Tools? If Google has any concerns about your site, it should show up there.
yes i m agree with u. Google webmaster tools gives alert with message in your account. Or We can also track using Google by simply put our website url in search section.
can i see previous affected details .i.e, banning, penality., in Google webmaster tools?
If suddenly your keyword ranking fell down or becomes invisible from its current ranking then it simply means your website is penalized. But sometimes it happens that a website ranking comes back after 1 or 2 days then it is called as search engine updation or other reason but not penalization.
During the process of algorithm updates, there will be minor changes in search engine ranking. It is called Google Dance.
If your ranking fell down, it does not mean you are penalized. There are two ways your website’s ranking is affected. Algo change and penalty. If your site violates Google’s terms they will send you a message on webmaster tools. You can fix the problem and submit a reconsideration. If it is an Algo change, then you cannot submit a reconsideration request.
go to google search and type
Link:your domain name
There are several different penalties that you should be aware of. The major one will be a message in Google webmaster tools that could say that you have been using un-natural linking methods. The only way to remove this penalty would be too have the links removed and place to re-submission.
The other could be the Google Penguin over optimisation penalty. This is the most common recent penalty where link builders have been over using the same anchor text. However, Matt Cutts has stated that the penguin update is purely algorithmic and therefore it is possible to effect a full recovery by changing your anchor text and bringing down the % of links that had the overused anchor text.
A de-indexed site is very serious. do a google search for your entire domain name. If it does not return a result then it means you have been de-indexed. You can argue your point with Google and ask for re-consideration but unless you can prove no spam was taking place you will likely not get anywhere. de-indexing is highly unusual but if you adopt spam techniques it would be possible.
Before doing your SEO work for these people make sure that you check out all these possibilities before continuing.

Maybe you are talking about ranking filters because penalty is something that is so sever that might even make people turn off the websites permanently. The fact is that the majority of problems encountered these days are temporary ranking filters or actions that have been followed by consequences. For instance, if you link to a lot of bad neighborhoods, the impacts on your ranks could be bad but are drops truly penalties?
If your most web pages are indexed by Google and more or less get refreshed and re-crawled and some of your main keywords are among the first 1000 domains listed, all you need to do would be gathering better links and adding finer contents to your site. Time factor is something which may make people think their sites have been penalized but theu just need to wait because even the best SEO strategy will take some time to give results.
The best way is to find that many of your preceding backlinks were either discounted or de-indexed by Google. Since the whole value of your backlinks goes down, your ranking dropped. It may be a sign of your website penalized by Search Engines.
A manual penalty will result in you receiving notification from Google in Webmaster tools if your links are not deemed to be natural. In this case the links must be removed. More likely that you are penalised by the Penguin algorithm. You then need to look at evening things out with reference to anchor text and vary it. It can take some time to do this.
Google webmaster would be instantly showing such penalties .
I am not sure whether Google will email the same to you or not.
The first indication of a Google Penalty is always a sudden deop in your rankings.
Check your analytics data, if it shows major drop in organic traffic in a span of few days. That points towards a possible penalty.
After research i found that if you will follow following points then you will know that your website was penalized or not:
- First Check that Google Analytics you are using is latest or not.
We need to setup an advanced segment to filter out all the irrelevant traffic such as direct traffic, referral traffic, Bing traffic, etc. If you are new to analytics don’t worry, this is easier than it sounds. Start off by opening up the “Advanced Segments” drop down menu at the top and selection “+ New Custom Segment”.
Once inside the “Advanced Segments” drop down, we need to name the segment and start adding the necessary filters, also known as “dimensions”. First filter ensures we are only receiving traffic from Google but since this could still contain Google Adwords traffic we need to add another filter. The second filter makes sure all traffic is coming from organic search traffic, aka not pay-per-click. Then we need to filter out any branded keywords, these are usually keywords in your domain name. Finally we are ready to save our Advanced Segment and start looking at the traffic.
Now we want to see all of the traffic history from yesterday to just before the first Panda update. With the new version of Google Analytics set the date range from 2/1/11 to yesterday’s date.
Look for any noticeable drops in traffic and compare them to the dates of known panda updates. A typical drop in traffic from Panda is usually at least 25% and happens overnight.
