I came across a web directory cipinet.com which was launched in 2002. Their PR is 4 and some pages have PR 3.
Their submission page says three to four months review time for free submissions. They also have paid submission options from $19.99 to $99.99 and website is reviewed in 24 hours. Do you think it is advisable to make paid submission of $19.99 lifetime which is for basic paid to make quick submission.
I am planning to make submissions in directories to boost ranking of my websites. How do I know which directories I should submit my websites. I have limited money to get listed in as many directories as I can. You help will be appreciated.
Don’t do it. It’s a waste of money. Even if they accept you for your listing, it’s unlikely to make any appreciable difference to your traffic or to your search engine rankings.
You’d be better advised to put effort into developing useful and original content.
I feel its worthless to spend money on these directories.Because when you submit directories you really don’t get link from high PR page, the page is often unranked or has 0 PR.If its really good directory like DMOZ and Yahoo then it will be worth.Instead spend time in blog commenting which will really be helpful in your link building campaign.
JessicaAutumn thanks…I have been making free submissions all this time and just a few have included my site. Most of the free directory sites come with a condition of link exchange with them which I do not want to do. The directories I am looking for should be old (I read somewhere on web, they get more importance from search engines), do not ask for reciprocal link, reasonably priced and offer 100% refund if not approved. I do not find any reason that they will refuse my site if I follow their guidelines…and if at all it is refused, I get 100% refund.
The point of blog commenting is to amplify the points that the blogger makes, to provide additional information, and to generally engage in a dialogue with the blogger and their readers. Blog commenting just for the sake of getting links is spammy. In any case, it doesn’t work, as most blogging platforms automatically add a NOFOLLOW attribute to links posted in comments.
I’d go further and say that if your only hope of building traffic is to clutter other people’s blogs with spammy irrelevant comments, then there’s something seriously wrong with your SEO techniques.
It is not true. There are lots of sites providing free submissions without anything in exchange. You can find lots of free sites on the web very easily.
I never said just spam blogs through commenting and get links.Give valuable comments that adds value to the blog and its members.Post relevant comments and if you get links in this process then what’s wrong in that. Its time consuming but very much of quality and much better than Directories.
it is waste of money.submitting in directories will help to create high quality backj links.their is no any use to pay and submitting in payable directories.
