How can i make my web site popular?

Hi, I have got a new web site of sports related news. I can not make it popular. really want to make it hit and rank in google first page. pls help me with it .

Concentrate on building good quality content and ensure that the search engines are indexing it regularly. It’s going to take time, especially in a niche which have a LOT of sites, so be patient. The quick and dirty tricks others post may have a short term gain, but to get long term traction (and return visitors, which is where monetization and other benefits occur), good and consistently updated content is king.

I have always felt like the key to building a good website which can be popular is a website which you are genuinely interested in, ie you can sustain it for a period of time. A key to staying good within rankings is to make sure you update the site regulary.

And if there was a magic eight ball which gave us all the answers, I’d show it, but there’s not. But those videos should be a good start.

Also, don’t just focus on search engines. They are a waste of time imho. It’s like basing your business success on the hope that the wind will blow in a certain direction. You need to think bigger, and talk about your service more (in appropriate circles), write about it—at places like Medium, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube—and so on. Marketing is much bigger than SEO.
