How can i create my own web hosting server for my website??

You can search the forum and find some threads to read. From memory the majority of people think its a bad idea.

Why do you want to run a server from home?

Creating your own web hosting server definitely isn’t something one must do out of their home. A VPS, or even a dedicated server, can be pretty good solutions in some cases for some web sites/apps. I definitely agree that hosting out of your home, or even your business in most cases… is generally not the best idea, in my experience.

On the other hand (unless this is intentionally a learning experience for you, in which case, forge ahead!), if you have to ask this question it’s going to be a long, hard, and perhaps dangerous (for your website’s stability) road to do so.

As @Rubble asks - what’s your reasoning for it? Usually there’s a particular need for a standalone server for a site.

because i want’s to run my own website and also i want’s to know how to build this???

I think this question is to broad for an answer here and I suggest you use your favourite search engine to find some tutorials.

Have you already got a website?

I think you should search for details on Wamp and/or Xampp, both allow you to run a website a computer desktop either from a Mac, Windows or Linux operating systems.

What computer do you have?

The best person to answer that question is the owner of the data centre you are intending to have look after the server for you.

A search for co-location web servers will soon help you to find places that can look after the server for you once you build it. They will ensure that it is on 24/7 with a fast internet connection and backup power supply.

A slightly cheaper solution than setting up your own server is to simply rent a dedicated hosting server that a hosting provider has already set up.

Two answers:

This is a VERY BAD idea! Your ISP will delete your account for violating their T&C; you don’t have the bandwidth to support a website; you don’t have the software tools to maintain and protect a website and you can’t monitor your website 7/24/365¼ (I know I can’t!). Hosting companies have all these and are very inexpensive in relation to what you would have to buy/rent.

This is a VERY GOOD idea for website development and testing. While I do not agree with John’s recommendation of WAMP and/or XAMPP (I prefer to load the daemons myself for full control of the testing environment), they may be best for a newbie (snapshot hosting environment). That way, you can develop and test OFFLINE and prevent embarrassing situations as you learn.

Regards,

DK

Overall and in this age, setting up and running your own server from your system isn’t going to give you the performance or the security that you need. It isn’t really cost effective. If you are committed to the project then check YouTube or any number of other online sources for some more detailed advice.

As it’s been four months since the OP visited, I see no benefit in resurrecting this discussion.
