Home page de-indexed, PR4 lost and several other pages the same

If someone can help me on this I would be in debt.
I have my portfolio built with WordPress and I assume, after an upgrade, my home page lost the PR and got de-indexed. Around 6 other pages suffer the same faith. However the blog and the posts are still fine.

I tried the robots.txt, rebuilt sitemap and took outside the canonical tag, which was different for all pages.
The SEO doctor points no errors, however Google just doesn’t want to index back those pages.

Thank you!!

I have problems only with 6 pages; portfolio section is important that is not showing up anymore.
The incoming links are more than trustworthy.
The blog posts show up and rank very well.
Really have no clue what could have happened.

its possible that they are re indexing things for your site. you probably wanna wait bit longer see if things turn around.

Did your homepage address change? Did you 301 redirect the old pages to the new ones?

Was your site down while you made changes?

How long has it been? Could your pages have hit PR0 during the last update and you’ll just have to wait for the next toolbar update to see their true PR?

Thank you for responses. Now with the removed canonical tag it seems the home page is indexed but with no page rank.

The site was fine for the last year and the redirection was done properly.
It is like that for over a month now.
I know somebody else with a similar problem, but suddenly it got the PR back after it played with the canonical tag.

The thing I would like to know, has your web site also disapeered from the search engine results. I keep on hearing that page rank is not being given the same weight as it used to be so I am wondering if your site is still in the same place in the ‘organic listings’ for whatever search engine you use.

So in other words you might have lost page rank but if your site is still being found in the same spot in the listings then you might not have lost anything in actuality. On teh flip side if you have lost page rank and your site is nowhere to be seen then you have a problem. It could be that the links you had incoming are no longer deemed to be as trustworthy as they used to be.
