Help regarding permalinks

I want to change the permalink structure of my website. Right now it is in the format of “mywebsite.com/post”. example:
http://booksinterview.in/operating-system-interview-questions-answers/.
But I need to change permalink to:

• mywebsite.com/category1/topic-name.htm
• mywebsite.com/category2/topic-name.htm
  Please also tell how can i redirect user from old permalink to new?

Also, what if my post is associated with multiple catgory? I am using wordpress. How can i shift from
mysite.com/category1/post-name
permalink to
http://booksinterview.in/operating-system-interview-questions-answers/
permalink.

Hello rajatjump i think a possible simple way for you is to got to menus in the wp-admin panel.
and there select the category you want and drag it to the menu.

As for the multiple category i think we would need more info.
