Hi all!
I have website about vietnam travel. I am currently only getting 60+ views each day for my site, it has been up and running since october. I hear of people getting 1000+ views per day a lot sooner than the time i’ve had my site up and running.
Please add suggestions and explain how I go about doing this.
you can try Facebook among your friends for a start, this can easily increase your traffic. make them share the link to your site among their friends.
also, you can try to do some SEO, i’m not an expert on this, but i believe adding some words/phrases people tend to search and things like that might help a lot.
there are many other SEO tips you can find on the forum too.
I agree with this. You should start advertising your site to your first-degree network. Most, if not all, will share your site to the deeper degrees. Don’t limit yourself to just Facebook, by the way. You can also use Twitter, Linked In, and maybe some online communities as well.
You have to do Directory, Article, Classified Submission, Forum, Blog Posting, RSS Feed Submission etc kind of Off page optimization SEO tasks to get many good back links.
You should also start participating in forums that are relevant to your site’s content. Such as VirtualTourist, TripAdvisor, FlyerTalk, LonelyPlanet, etc.
Do a google search for “travel forums” and you should have a nice start list in no time.
In your content put words in that have anything to do with Vietnam, ie, all the places people will go, food people will eat, even travel agents that specialise in Vietnam.
Just go with social networking like facebook and twitter. Add your friends to your list. Keep some interesting status and tell your friends to share. You get good popularity.
According to me social media is the best platform for getting good backlinks, traffic and as well as page views. Log in social media site’s and share your content with your friends. Try to do blog and forum comment , make sure those forum and blog have do follow link and high PR. Participate in and contribute on it. Always reply those person who ask you question and who are contribute with you.
You can go for any social media media campaign, can use paid ranking or paid advertisement for rapid result. ALL three are the best way to drive relevant and huge traffic to your site.
Do try to get travel blogs and do comments on them, forums, these will help you to get more traffic.
Sure you can post AD that there are some free AD websites you can try, also this will attract people to come and visit your website.
There’s been a number of replies listing out topics to try. If you’d like to contribute some more specific advice or a method of using a strategy please do so but let’s call it a day with the tactic lists and drill in. Thanks.
Here is something most people didn’t comment on…how many people travel to Vietnam? I suspect the number is pretty low. Thus makin your website a niche product and getting traffic for that requires interest for that niche.
According to government estimates Vietnam sees 3.3m tourist arrivals each year. Vietnam has a return rate of just 5% compared to Thailand’s whopping 50%. - http://wikitravel.org/en/Vietnam
Low return, but a considerable number of visitors. So basically people who need info for their once-ever trip.
Obviously helping to educate people on if it’s a fit for them would be a good topic for the site.
I could say that Facebook is the first step. Try to find groups on Facebook that is related to Vietnam and Traveling. Then go to TripAdviser and etc. But first try to reach to your friends for help and then go on hard work on groups and sites about traveling.
Do search engine optimize and social media optimize your website. Submit your website at google webmaster tools and bing webmaster tools (and also submit a sitemap of your website if you have). And create a facebook page and account in the twitter to target the relevant audience in the social media platforms and receive the traffic what you’ve expected or more. But, everything is depended on what you’re doing and how you’re doing. you should attract the user/visitor with your content (text or images or videos).
don’t know if this is still a current issue that you are experiencing…been doing SEO for quite a while now and I’d love to look at the site and see if i can give you a couple of thoughts… I understand the URL was removed so PM me if you got a minute.
