I just picked up How to build your website the right way using html and css 2nd edition and using the navigation menu on page 63, my pages still won’t link together. I’ve typed and retyped it 7 times to make sure I am not making some sort of mistake. Building this link is the only problem I have with this exercise. What is going on?
The odds are your files aren’t named correctly or you have them in the wrong folder make sure index.html, about.html and contact.html are all in the same directory/folder and the file extensions are *.html and not *.htm or any other combination.
I assume you are using Notepad on Windows to write your XHTML?
If that fails post a sample of your markup here so we can check and see if you’ve made some other typos, etc. This type of question gets asked a lot here and usually it’s small typos in file names or extensions that have occurred.
