We had a call from these people: http://www.kreative.com/
They talk a good talk. They want 15,000 for a new website built from the ground up which includes ranking you in google. BUT, they might could lower the price down to the gold package rate of 10k if money is an issue. Supposedly their prices are not set in stone. Bronze is 2500, Silver is 5000, Gold is 10,000 and Platinum is 15,000.
You can look up what each package offers on their website.
The funny thing is, I can not find any real good reviews about them online. Supposedly they have been in business for almost 7 years, yet I have never heard anything of them. No real chatter online when searching in google.
He gave me a list of websites “they did” but I do not even know if they actually did that design work.
We are thinking of having our site rebuilt by a professional but I am not sure these are the people.
7 years? Why does archive.org not see them as a web design agency until Jan 1 2014?
From 1994 when the domain was registered, until September 13th, 2013, it’s a family website for this guy Steve Hall.
Then the next snapshot, January 1, 2014, it’s rebought/rebranded into this agency.
I’ve never heard of Kreative, but then again it’d be weird if I had; I’m not in that area. If you are looking into them, I’d get some answers about the information I highlight above (and if you do, please do follow back on here; I’m curious ).
Hmmm, if I were to choose what type of business they were in out of
Websites - SEO - Branding
It would be branding.
IMHO their own site’s design sure is “eye-catching” but not anything I’d want my site to be designed like.
SEO - they don’t come up in SERPs. How can they do for others what they can’t do for themselves.
As for “7 years”, there own blog states.
About KREATIVE //
KREATIVE is an emerging creative agency. We work together to define, strategize and develop the identity of future iconic brands.
I guess the definition of “emerging” implies something different to me in terms of time scale.
Yes, I was only going by the 2010 figure of 6+ years that BBB said. I used the archive.org site and see that they have only been online for 2 years. Previously that domain was used by someone else. The reviews on their own facebook page are horrible and they are not even doing “damage control”. They wont reply back to the negative reviews. They also have not updated the facebook page in over a year. We WON’T be using them to update our website.
If they were any good they wouldn’t be cold calling people trying to get business - they’d already have as much business as they could handle (and be looking to hire more staff probably as well).
Seriously? A company you’ve never heard of makes an unsolicited marketing call to you and you’re actually considering using them?
I would consider that kind of call in the same way I would Spam e-mails, but to each his own. If I were looking for a company to do work for me - especially if large fees were involved - I would be doing my own research, asking for recommendations from folk I trust, but I wouldn’t be considering an unknown company which called me out of the blue.
Spam emails are not as bad as that surely - at least your spam filter can clean out most of those without you having to waste time on it yourself (unlike the phone calls).
Back on my computer and able to look into this more closely.
I somehow missed that line last night. That doesn’t sound to me like a reputable, established company, but like somebody desperate to get as much money out of you as they can.
I just wanted to do research before I chose a company. I just wanted to know if anyone had heard of them is all. Seems like everything to be said about them really is poor. Thanks guys!
I think you can safely cross them off your list.
Going by their sales methods, comments on Facebook, quality of their own site and the one job they actually did for doormats, I say
I think we are going to end up going with a local company. My employer does not think it is a good idea to send so much money across the internet and we can not even meet the people. They sent us an email with some numbers on it and where the guy said the “Platinum” package was going to be “only” $15,000 somehow it made it to over 23k in the email and they have some sort of higher package for 40k. Our website is not going to get a 40k makeover. What a joke.
