Google sitemap and yahoo sitemap good for SEO

Hello,

I use gsitecrawler to create sitemap for my websites.

Are there any tool to create a sitemap better than gsitecrawler?

I learned from this forum that if we have a sitemap on each site, it is good for SEO.

My other question is, gsitecrawler creates a sitemap and I place sitemap.xml file on the root directory.

Do I need to place it on the homepage?

Since my dating site has many links, what is the best way to do that?

Don’t place site map link in home page, once you creating site.xml submit to google and url list to yahoo for crawling purpose.

Also: If you place it in your base directory with the name sitemap.xml, most search engines will seek it out and find it on their own (without you even needing a reference) - of course the Robots.txt file reference will help the process along (as will Google Webmaster Tools submission of the file). :slight_smile:

No, don’t link to the XML sitemap from your actual web-pages.

Submit it to Google/Yahoo using the respective webmaster tools consoles.

You can also make reference to the sitemap in your robots.txt file, since this is the first thing robots check when they attempt to crawl your site.
