Google "Site:" command help

I recently added a feature on to my real estate site that allows me to display all of the MLS listings in my area on my site and they can be indexed by google. It’s called IDX and has been around in the US for years and years but just became legal here last month. Now I have thousands of listings instead of hundreds.

I have a couple of questions about the site: command on google and the results. When I put the command: “site:http://exitrealtypros.ca” in google Canada(google.ca) it says: “About 2,180 results (0.06 seconds)”…But when I click over to the next page it says “Page 2 of about 2,180 results (0.05 seconds)”

First question - Are the number results 2180 or the number of pages of results(2180x10)?

Second question - Are all of the indexed pages displayed here? There are only 79 pages and 10 per page so what happened to the other 1390?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Google has purposely said things like “this is an estimate” of the number of pages, or even “this is a sample” from our index. There really is no straight answer on this.

Hello Everyone,

site:http://www.mysitename.com
this command help us to showing all indexed pages in google

Answer to your first question is that it shows number of pages.

The second answer is that google does not shows the pages having same content it had indexed your page but the indexed page have same content as some previous ones so that is why it is showing lesser number of pages. But number of results i.e 2180 is number of pages indexed.

Hello,

I have a question about the “site:” command. Lets say I have my domain “www.domain.com” and a parked domain “www.parked.com”. And my website has 2 pages “page1” and “page2”.

If i search for “site:www.domain.com” my results should be:

www.example.com/page1.htm
www.example.com/page2.htm

So, What are the correct results for the next 2 searches:

site:www.example.com

and

site:domain.com (notice no www)

Thanks

By typing the phrase ( site:www.domainname.com ) in google.com will display the only the no. of pages indexed for this website.
