I am just monitoring a site on google and i am not quite sure how google places works. I have set the site up on google places. so when I am looking at a normal search solar panels installers - the website comes up in the search. when i add locality such as “solar panels installers manchester” it usually does very well and comes up on page 1 in the top seven.
However the difference here is it amongst a list of other installers with red flags next to the link and labeled through a-h for instance. Is this Google places? when I click on the link it doesn’t take me to google places info it takes me to the actual site. I guess I’m just trying to get a handle on what google places actually does.
