Google Apps, Email Sync --- Broken in Windows Live Mail

Our clients have the newest version of Windows Live Mail running on Windows Vista and it’s hooked up to Google Apps like so:

Their mail works, except for every now and then where Windows Live Mail will freeze for 5-10 seconds when they try to click on their additional email account on the left pane of Windows Live Mail.
It will then say Updating Program and the message will stay up there for about an additional 10-15 seconds. It is rather frustrating, when all they want to do is check their email and they can’t click close to cancel this update.

Clicking the Send / Receive button tends to take a bit longer to sync then it should, and some of the emails that they reply to may also stay bolded as if they have not been read before.

Strange that it’s happening on both computers, so that tells me that it rules out the potential of it being a computer related issue?
Every now and then they will also get this error message in Windows Live Mail, and keep in mind, this is on both computers:

"
Windows Live Mail:
Your serer has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system. Server: imap.gmail.com. Protocol: IMAP. Port: 993. Secure(SSL): 1. Code: 800ccc0f"

Any ideas what is going on here?
Does this sound like an ISP, a hosting, or a Google Apps related issue?

Thanks!

I’d guess a windows live mail vs. IMAP as implemented by google issue.

I’d really wonder why one would use windows live mail over gmail’s native interface as it really blows away most mail clients but that might be asking too much.

This might also be interesting.

Thanks for that link. The clients are going to upgrade their machines from Vista to 7 with keen hopes that it will resolve the issue with Windows Live Mail, and also to do a general update as well.
We are thinking it’s just a local issue with their computer(s)?, and not a server or ISP issue due to this message:

“Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.”

Still very strange. It could be a bug with Vista and Windows Live Mail caused by Windows Update.
