Goodbeachguide 2015 redesign

Hi,
just busy building the new 2015 goodbeachguide from scratch. Quite a different interface i think, and hopefully far better?!

http://test.goodbeachguide.co.uk/ Its not fully operational (like the death star) as yet but you can search for a beach etc.

If you have any general thoughts i’d be glad to hear them.

My main question though is one of logo size. My bosses are saying make the logo huge! we want people to know who we are. From my point of view i think the function of the site will make people know who we are. I’ve looked at a page about the average logo size and it currently is slightly above the average of the ones sampled. I was going to compromise and make it slightly larger.

The ‘marine life’ section is escaping it’s bounding box a little, but it’s coming along nicely.

I’m on Chrome 41 here. As you can see, the last few words are dropping out of the bottom of the ‘Marine Life’ section

thats brilliant thanks. hmm must be a font size issue. I’ll add a background color to that panel as it should expand to accomodate font increases (that white bit is part of the panel, the image has just ended as its only 1080px high).
