Going to WP Build a Site on a Subdomain, then more it over to new domain

I am redesigning an ugly site (built in ASP) with a new cool looking wordpress site. I will be creating a subdomain for the wordpress site to be built at. I then want to just take the old site down and put the new website up at the new domain.

How can I do this? Simply create the site, them move the files and edit the SQL database?

Is there a tutorial or simple guide I am missing

so I will be building at valuecruises.seothomas.com
and moving over to
www valuecruises net

is it so easy that we can just flip the switch?

I’d first create new site locally. Then after some testing and ensuring that everything works fine I’d change it. But remember about redirecting.
Why do you want to make a subdomain?

Do you have to move servers or can you park the domain on your subdomain? thats easiest but if you have to move just copy the whole installation via ftp then export the database into your new one and update two or three entrys with the new domain… its cake
