Hi Lisa GIAC is an organization for Java certifications, I think you should go for this certifications if you really want to put this ad on into your career and I will suggest you to go for self test engine preparing material which also helps all to pass the certification in quickly and with high grades.

First, J2EE is a very outdated term. Now, they call it JEE. I believe it’s upto version 5. I’m not sure if those certification is worth anything… No one is going to hire you as a “senior JEE developer” for having a certification w/ 0 years of experience. You’ll get hired a Junior developer then about 5 years you’ll be at senior level. If you already know and have experience… I don’t see much point. These days, many Java shop are using Spring Framework instead of JEE (myself included ^_^). If you already know JEE, I’d also learn Spring if I were you. Then again, if you already know JEE + Spring… then you definitely don’t need certification.
