A Friend of Mine USE Geo meta tag in Pages . he said that its working now To get Higher Results specided in GEO meta tag . Does Google , Bing Consider GEO Meta tag Important while Generating SERP’s ?
Google does not consider the Geo meta tag, I am not sure about Bing but I believe that they do.
I couldn’t find any statement from Google that thet use GEO Meta TAG for rankings…
I have search in google about geo meta tag but could not find any kind of proper information, but i think that is not true !
If you go to http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=79812 you will see a list of all the meta tags that Google does consider, and a geo meta tag is not amongst them.
Google looks at the TLD and IP Address but does not look at geo meta tag.

I can tell sure, Google wont consider Geo metatag for SERP position. it wont included in the signals.
I haven’t seen Google mention using the geo meta tag.
To specify the location i would use the hcard micro-format as Google says it uses this as part of rich snippets and can allow your site to appear in locale search and on the SERPs map.
Google guidelines showed that geo tag has no importance for google while indexing page and then displaying in serps
well as if i don’t seem anyone use this GEO meta tags and whether it is helpful or not in terms of higher keyword ranking or better SERP’S maps is quite doubtful. So only can be stated to wait and watch for the results as if now.
