From where the traffic is coming?

Before I got busy with internet marketing I was quite a serious musician. But after I got busy online, I didn’t have time for practicing. I was loosing my grip over my instrument. So, I thought I should open a blog about music. That would keep me close with music. So, I created a blogspot blog two months ago( Didn’t want to invest for domain at first) posted a review of my guitar and some guitar lessons. Integrated it with adsense. And after that I totally forgot about it.

Today I logged into Adsense after 2 months and I was shocked to see that the blog received 1500+ UVs and around $5. The $5 is nothing, what amazes me is that the traffic. NO link building or nothing related to SEO was done. Just created the blog. Then, I had those traffic from where? Is this an advantage of blogspot? I tried google search the site isn’t appearing anywhere.

The first thing you need to do is hookup google analytics so you can see what is going one. Google webmaster tools would be a good idea too.

Well, I looked on blogger stats. I didn’t know about it before. All of the visitors came from Google. Thats why I’m amazed. I didn’t even try to index it. So my question is does blogspot blogs has any positive side in SERPs?

Blogspot blogs probably rank and get indexed quicker, but it’s probably just as hard to get them ranking top for competitive keywords.

Looks like you may want to rethink your commitment to your blog. Keep plugging away at it and you could have the best of both worlds.

I have couple of blogspot and worpress blogs but in my case wordpress blogs have more visitors than blogspot. So it seems that content of the blog is the main attraction.

I have been thinking the same. Should I go with the blogspot blog, or buy a domain and start a new blog? Looks like my contents were great if those visitors were not generated by any kind of advantage Blogger might have in SERP. What do you guys think? Any help is appreciated. :slight_smile:

Now blogspot blog index fast. It’s really good thing increase number of visitors to your site.

that’s a good thing about blogger . com because it is powered by google…Blogger is so much easy to use and to promote.

This is not an advantage of using blogspot.You are getting traffic without any seo that means your blog might have some unique articles that drives the traffic automatically.From where the traffic is coming you can check that by using google analytics in your blog.

Your niche is highly targeted and not many people knows how to play guitar but many people wanted to learn - that’s the reason why you are getting such traffic… many people are looking for it.
