IMHO, this would be ideal. Read, and read a lot. With time you will become more familiar with the subtle nuances of different writing styles and be able to employ them in your own writing. Another good idea would be to take a course like "creative writing 101" even if not part of a degree program.
If you must "hire out", I think you could save yourself a lot of trouble if you make sure the content writers use the language natively. True, many native English writers have horrendous use of English for example, but writing by a non-native English writer is always obvious.
