Woo hoo. That was quick. Looking good at the moment…
Yup, the guys did a brilliant job. If you notice anything dodgy, please PM me immediately.
Thanks.
So far all I’ve noticed is much faster page loads. :nanaman:
So after jumping the gun I am now seeing sitepointstatic hanging for 5-10 seconds on every page load
We’ve run into DNS issues with sitepointstatic.com during the migration. Some users will be seeing missing images and style sheets across sitepoint.com. We’re working the servers and hope to have it corrected soon. In the meantime, enjoy the slightly-more-spartan-than-usual experience.
Missing images and styles have returned for us here at SitePoint HQ. It may take a little longer for the DNS change to propagate worldwide, but rest assured the site’s on the mend.
Works perfectly here. Super-fast with images and everything
Ok, so it looks like we have a bit of an issue with post counts for some members. If you happen to notice that you have several million posts, make the most of it, we’ll fix it tomorrow.
Hey Hawk,
It looks fine here, and loaded instantly.
Thanks for your kind heads up and the work you did.
Cheers,
Sandor
Works fine here in the UK. I must admit I cannot tell the difference but I may at some point going through the forum. Congrats for the smooth transition though.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the forums run this fast… so snappy!
logging on last night post-migration (Oz time) it was veeeery slow - took about 5 minutes just to log in and then each call to a web page took about about another 5 minutes each. Obviously I didn’t stick around for long last night.
But logging on this morning and now early evening, life on sitepoint is turning over very much faster now
I’d estimate pages are now loading about 30% faster than what they were pre-migration (I have a cable broadband conection).
Yeah, that seemed to happen worldwide—certainly both in Oz and Europe.
It should not be out of scene even for a second. but yes for testing purpose it can be…
Hope for the best!
I was wondering about that… I noticed someone with 4 billion post’s and decided to look at the members list to see if it was unique… 7 pages of em
I thought for a moment that someone had set some kind of competition to see who could get us to “the forum with the most posts ever” first
Well is it true or just a joke ? I am asking becoz today is my first day to sitepoint. But I am also hoping a very good server service.
It’s a feature, not a bug … :goof:
Page load seems fine for me. Maybe you have slow internet speed.
