Firefox ignoring background position

Hi Guys,

i have a ul list and have used custom bullet point images, i am trying to position the bullet point images so they appear at the top of each li

here is my css

#newlist ul {
	margin-left: 115px;
	list-style: none;
	padding: 0px 5px 5px 5px;
	line-height: 16px;
}

#newlist li {
	background-image:url(images/orange_arrow.jpg);
	background-repeat: no-repeat;
	background-position: 3px left;
	padding: 0px 0px 10px 20px;
}

i am using background-position to position the bullets…this seems to work fine on ie6, ie7, safari, and chrome

but firefox is ignoring the 3px part of the code

any ideas?

thanks, that worked :blush:

It seems odd (to me) to mix a length and a keyword like that. And you’re using them in the ‘wrong’ order. That doesn’t matter if you use two keywords, but it does in all other cases. In fact, what you have is invalid CSS2.1.

Why not use,

background-position:0 3px;

or at least,

background-position:left 3px;

?
