Got a new MacBook Pro, and when I am downloading and installing software, I am trying to check the “checksum” for each app.
Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find any for either FileZilla or TextWrangler , which seems strange.
Because I will be using FileZilla to manage my website, I want to be extra certain that I am g=installing a legitimate copy of the app.
How can I do that??
Sincerely,
Debbie

The command is md5 $filename
That said, if you are using FTP to upload your files then I would probably worry about that more than checking the hashes on binaries, especially if you downloaded them from the “horses mouth” so to speak.
