I have been trying to publish my web pages (I’ve been using a CMS) through FileZilla but I have been unable to do so.

The files transfer but there is a critical error in red at the end of the transfer.

On the right hand pane of Filezilla (under remote site) there is the tree diagram with folder which when opened had beneath it the joomla 15 folder and under that logs. Both these yellow folders have a black question mark on them. Under these is the www folder which when opened has two folduers underneath, images and smilies both of which have a black question-mark on them.

Another problem is that when I try to access by website using its url I get the following message.

Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat) Server at www.peterdeloughrytd.com Port 80

Can anyone help?

Have you followed the instructions for installing Joomla?

The second error is because the index file hasn’t uploaded.

What is the critical error you’re getting?

FILE CAN’T BE UPLOADED - CRITICAL ERROR

is what appears at the end of the FileZilla pane.

As regards did I install Joomla correctly, I don’t know. I have followed the various joomla guide books but they are each different. I am able to log in as an administrator and change my jooma (local host) site around without a problem. I fear I may have made an error with Mysql database.

This is, in all likelyhood, purely a file error.

It could either be a problem with FileZilla, your connection settings or the server you’re trying to upload to.

So, first thing to try is make sure your connection settings are correct. Then try a different FTP client. If all else fails, contact your host.
