Could anyone explain what is feed burner and how it works?

Let me google that for you

According to Wikipedia

FeedBurner is a web feed management provider launched in 2004. FeedBurner was founded by Dick Costolo, Eric Lunt, Steve Olechowski, and Matt Shobe. Costolo, a University of Michigan graduate, became CEO of Twitter in 2010. FeedBurner provides custom RSS feeds and management tools to bloggers, podcasters, and other web-based content publishers.

In short, it’s a feature-rich RSS management suite. If you don’t understand thus far, this blog post will do a better job of explaining it.

It is something that a blogger needs to activate in order to syndicate blog contents. Think of feedburner as a tool to let your feed or rss to be viewed by any browsers or feed readers…

Feed burner got no SEO benefits to let you know (since this posted on seo category).

Feed burner only helps tracking /analyzing your feed. e.g. how many people subscribed etc.

Feed burner updates your content on feed distribution sites like Netvibes etc. It alerts your feed subscribers and search engines to take notice of your updated content.

There are many other alternatives to Feedburner like Feedcat, Feedblitz, Feedstats etc but most people want to stick with Feedbuner only because it’s a product of Google.
