Lol. There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding how the FBI managed to break into the San Bernardino gunman’s iPhone. Suggestions included all sorts of possibilities, from exploiting bugs to NAND mirroring. Turns out, the solution in this case was a little more low tech, albeit bizarre.
The FBI has admitted to Fox News that that a co-worker of the gunman — April Olofs — remembered overseeing him unlock his phone on several occasions. Although she couldn’t remember the numbers he pressed, she agreed to undergo hypnosis to help recall what she saw. During hypnosis, she clearly remembered seeing him type 0911 — which turned out to be the correct code.
