Facing the truth...the ugly truth? Eek!

 ah sure, no one’s perfect

That’s is the funniest impression ever  Too right it’s the Stallone Judge Dredd! Who else?!

:shifty: What’s wrong with him? I think he’s quite cool actually, one of the classics (:

Well that’s a healthy approach to have Poes, let’s hope you’ve had some pleasant surprises then over the years

It’s strange though, when you do talk to someone for a long time, then see their picture - it’s hard to match the face to the personality. For me, say, in an IM conversation, if someone has their photo on their display picture - it’s a bit odd - especially when you’ve always pictured them looking something different! I guess what’s even more strange is when you hear someone for the first time, then that totally puts a whole new spin on things. :goof:

Yeah, I think we all tend to judge people by how they look.

I think the best thing for us to do is all post our photos up now so we know how everyone looks and just get it out of the way… here’s a picture of me at work… developing web apps as usual!!!

The Stallone voice I was talking about not him. Mine is much deeper and authoritative: T’ law ‘as neya soul. Ah’m t’ law!

Don’t even try— you won’t be able to pronounce it correctly, I however can, and and it would literally make you ‘jump’.

Obviously my job regularly requires me to shout and show physical authority anyway or I’d end-up injured on a regular basis.

 How did you guess? Are you psychic or something?

You’re a teacher? :goof:

In a sense but my ‘pupils’ would literally flatten you, if you weren’t careful with them - average 680 kg.

average 680 kg.

Fatties need a diet.

A diet of BRAINS

Is that… a Scottish Judge Dredd?

Scottish, No. Tyke: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkshire_dialect

That is a good weight for them and that’s not fat, fat would be approx. 800 kg. Like I said you need to know what you are doing when faced with such opposing four-legged weight.

Hello Hazel!

It’s a fact that all men like pretty women and when a pretty woman shows her picture then…it’s getting a little boring…

As a woman, I appreciate highly men intellect and also their strong will. The picture can not change my opinion, except the man tells lies about his age for example.

I don’t look at the person, I listen to what they say.

It’s a tricky point! Needless to say our online personas are somewhat different - and have to be because of the context! It’s an ‘unnatural’ way of communicating, so what is said is more structured and controlled than in reality. In that sense often when you get to know an online friend in real life, their conversation (and yours) will be much less controlled, but much more realistic. I believe this is the same kind of reality shock that you get when you first see a picture of a person whom you have known for a long while. Ah the joys of cultures online!

Just FYI, that’s actually a picture of Conan the Barbarian (Schwarzeneggar) in an office, with my face… I guess no one caught it.

Actually Steve I just thought it was either; one of those none uniform days at the office or that the office heating system had packed in and the thermostat was rising. Other scenarios I don’t even want to consider.

It’s Miami… you don’t need an excuse to go to work topless here…

If I come across photos or web site of someone which distort my imagination or fancy on that person, I will react in two different ways generally, all depend on the nature of the ugly truth. If there is nothing evil, I will try to forget it. If there is something evil, I will be more on guard and this will definitely minimize the communication.
