recently my site got SSL certificate, then whenever i search my site it was came at 1st page, but i when i got ssl (turned to https) my site not coming at google 1st page. i have no idea what is wrong. Please tell me anyone what is the issue.
same page with http and https would be considered as different. which means your pages will be reindexed, reraanked. this is the reason I believe.
There is nothing to lose when you are moving your website to HTTPS. Basically Google will treat your website as new domain but you will definitely get your ranking back, if you have SSL properly installed. Check proper canonicalization settings for your website if you haven’t redirected your all HTTP urls to HTTPS.
With https and without https are consider two different websites so your backlinks are zero for https website, you need to redirect http (old domain) to https (new domain) this will help I hope.
Here is what you need to do
- same page should not be accessible with http and https Google bot will consider it as duplicate
- use 301 redirect in htaccess page by page url to redirect from old http to new https
- kill your old site map with http , re-make your sitemap.xml with https and resubmit on Google webmaster
You should be all good with your rankings
