Facing crawl errors with showing missing category. How to Fix?

Hello All,

I am working on a WordPress site and facing crawl errors at GWT which is showing URLs of my site without category and went on not found 404 pages.

Example is

GWT crawwel error URL

www.xyz.com/world-market-center-social-media-information-sheet/

Actual URL is

www.xyz.com/socialmedia/world-market-center-social-media-information-sheet/

So most of my URLs at GWT showing with missing category that cause of crawl error.

How can i fix this please help.

Do not worry about it. Google will get a Not Found error and eventually will stop attempting to crawl those pages. As long as you have those pages linked to throughout your site with the category name in the URL, Google will find them.

Thanks for your response. I understand but what if GWT tool showing those links as crawl errors and how can i removed those?

You can tell Google that they’re Gone or Moved, but as long as there are links out there that people click on you’ll still get the crawl errors.

IMHO it’s best to send those headers, but more important to make sure anyone clicking those gets a helpful page and not an HTTP error message.
Something like a search page, a “maybe you meant” page, a sitemap or even the home page would be much better.
