Encrypted code in footer preventing installation of PMetrics

Hi,

I’m trying to install Pmetrics in my Wordpress footer file so I can get traffic stats on every page. Placing the tracking code in the sidebar is not an option since I disable the sidebar on some pages. I tried installing it via the plugin but that didn’t work well. So,there is encrytped code in my footer file which is preventing me from adding the Pmetrics tracking code. Can anyone help me decode this? I’m not getting any reply from PMetrics support.

Does your site still work if you remove it?

When I remove the encrypted footer code listed above, the alignment of my pages and posts is all messed up.

What plugin?

The PMetrics Plugin. When I use this to install Pmetrics, I get an error message that my WP theme files cannot be edited. Deactivating the plugin removes that problem.

Why is it preventing you from adding other code? What exactly is the problem?

The encrypted code must have the closing HTML and Body tags in it. So, when I attempt to enter the PMetrics tracking code either before or after it and examine the source code, the tracking code doesn’t appear. This makes me question if it’s in effect or not.

I have no problem putting the associated decrypted code back in the footer once its decoded. I just want to be able to integrate the PMetrics code in the footer as well.

What’s that code for?

If it does, then get rid of that code. If someone’s trying to hide it by obfuscating it, it’s probably not doing much good.

This is usually used by people who want to make sure their copyright information is preserved, so they hide a required function along with the copyright blurb in obfuscation and unpack it at run time to prevent people from quick-searching “Copyright” and deleting the line.
